Live life to the fullest
Therapy in Durham, NC
Claire Sanguedolce, MSW, LCSW, E-RYT
Hello and welcome! I am a licensed clinical social worker specializing in treating adults with anxiety, OCD, and PTSD. Other focus areas include life transitions, depression, stress, chronic illness and pain, self-esteem, grief and loss, LGBTQIA+ issues, and more.
My therapeutic style is active, collaborative, and respectful. Together, we will personalize your therapy experience, drawing from various evidence-based, trauma-informed, and social justice-oriented approaches such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and other cognitive behavioral and mindfulness-based methods. Depending on your needs, we may incorporate mindfulness and somatic techniques into therapy sessions, enhancing your ability to bring flexible attention to your here-and-now experience. Throughout our work, we will nurture curiosity and self-compassion toward your thoughts and feelings, empowering you to lead a more values-based life. Our collaborative observations of your mind and behaviors will support greater self-understanding, more effective coping strategies, and an enhanced sense of overall wellbeing.
Therapeutic services
The process of looking for a new therapist can feel intimidating. It takes courage to even think about opening up about your personal challenges, hopes, and desires. Maybe you’re struggling with distressing thoughts or feelings that make it hard for you to fully engage in life. Maybe painful experiences you’ve had left you feeling stuck in the past or worried about the future, rather than connected to the present. Or maybe it seems as though you’ve hit a wall or reached a plateau with yourself or others.
I provide individual psychotherapy to adults, including in-person therapy sessions in Durham and virtual sessions for folks located anywhere in North Carolina. Whether you’re seeking a safe space to share, process, or heal or hoping to expand your strengths, you’re in exactly the right place.
